KATHMANDU: The lyrics and poems of senior lyricist and poet Dinesh Adhikari resounded at Chautari Restaurant, Jackson Height in New York on June 26. The poetic expressions of Adhikari flowed to soothe and touch the Nepali audience at the event ‘Akcharharuma Dinesh Adhikari’.
The event, which was a song and poetry recitation, was a presentation of ANESAS New York Chapter, Sampeshan, Height Himal and Nepali American Kalakar Sangh. And it was attended by Nepali literature and music enthusiasts living in New York.
Adhikari recited is eloquent poems, while Nepali singers and musicians performed songs penned by him. Singers Jagjit Samal and Yam Baral performed his lyrics while they were accompanied by musicians Sishir Shrestha on guitar and Nuchche Dangol on tabala.
Moreover, the proceeds collected from the event will be donated to Dhurmus-Suntali Foundation which is building houses for the Nepali people who lost their homes in the earthquake of April, 25, 2015.
